- Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
- $88,960 pa inclusive of industry and uniform allowances (level 4) + 12% super + additional allowances applicable
- 76 hour fortnight

As a Supervisor in our Roads and Drains team, you’ll take the lead in planning, coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of assigned maintenance teams. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth workflow, supporting your crews and driving efficient service delivery.
Your key duties will include:
- Leading and supervising daily operational tasks within the Roads & Drains team, ensuring a strong focus on team safety, development and high performance.
- Managing work programs and resources by overseeing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery to Council’s quality standards.
- Addressing relevant customer requests and providing prompt responses and professional advice to relevant stakeholders.
- Providing technical guidance and supporting teams (and contractors) in identifying and resolving maintenance issues for optimal results.
- Overseeing procurement and contractor performance to ensure projects stay within budget and meet agreed scope and standards.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations - including environmental, heritage, WHS legislation and Council policy and safe work processes
- Building collaborative relationships and working effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for Council.
- Supporting strategic planning by assisting management in budget development, equipment requests, and policy improvements.

About you
Ideally you’ll have proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in delivering maintenance and construction activities on transport and civil infrastructure. Leadership experience in managing operational teams is essential.
We’re seeking someone with well-developed numeracy, written and verbal communication skills and ability to use technology and various software packages.
Safety is a key priority for us as an organisation. We’re looking for someone who not only possesses the knowledge and physical ability to safely perform manual tasks but also demonstrates a genuine commitment to fostering a positive safety culture.
In addition to these skills and experience, you must hold a minimum of:
- a current drivers licence (minimum C class)
- a Construction Induction card
- a Certificate III in Civil Construction or a similar qualification
