Your responsibilities will include providing library customers with positive service experiences and general assistance in their use of library resources and services, including computer usage, internet and library catalogue navigation and self-service options for loans, returns, printing and copying. You will process routine customer loans, returns, reservation requests and payments, update membership records, repair library materials if required, and assist in the promotion, preparation and delivery of library activities and programs.
To be successful in this role you will have a genuine interest in being a positive member of the library team and provide exceptional service to patrons. You will have the technical aptitude to provide assistance on computers and library catalogues, and the interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
This role with Council offers excellent working conditions, generous employer funded superannuation benefits (up to 12%) and a 9 day fortnight in addition to four weeks paid annual leave per year. Council’s work locations have local parking.
Please note that whilst the current work location for this position is specified above, staff may be required to transfer to any of council's work locations with notice. Council currently has libraries located at Albany Creek, Arana Hills, Bribie Island, Burpengary, Caboolture, Deception Bay, North Lakes, Redcliffe, Strathpine, Woodford and a range of other facilities located throughout the region.
