The Department 

The Asset Maintenance department is responsible for the maintenance and renewal of Council’s assets throughout the region.  The areas of responsibility are primarily Roads and Drains, Parks, Cleansing, Construction, Fleet and Building and Facilities infrastructure.  The Asset Maintenance department is one of the largest departments within Council, maintaining essential community infrastructure across the Moreton Bay region.

The role

The successful applicant(s) will be required to conduct proactive and routine inspections on Council's infrastructure network, create new defects and work orders on Council systems, prepare detailed scopes of repair methods including identification of the labour, plant, materials and an estimate of time and respond to customer requests. 


Ideally the successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in undertaking inspections on network assets with knowledge and understanding of civil, roads and parks infrastructure and the construction of these assets, Certificate III in Civil Construction, Landscape Construction or Certificate of Competency in Bridge Inspections (Level 1,) a current Construction Induction Card and a C class drivers license.  


This role with Council offers excellent working conditions, generous employer funded superannuation benefits (up to 12%) and a 9 day fortnight in addition to four weeks paid annual leave per year.

Council’s work locations have local parking.


Term: Permanent Full Time 

Location: Various (4 positions) - Burpengary, Caboolture, Arana Hills and Petrie

Hours: Monday - Friday (9 day fortnight) 6:30am - 3:03pm

Award/Level: Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 3 of the Moreton Bay Regional Council EBA4 Certified Agreement

Remuneration: $68,440 pa + super (72.5 hour fortnight) 

Please note:

  • Applicants will be required to undergo a physical and hearing assessment with an independent professional nominated by MBRC as part of the recruitment process for this role as well as a National Police History Check.
  • This role requires the participation in council's "After Hours On-Call and Programmed Overtime Roster" service.

Work Location

Please note that whilst the current work location for this position is specified above, staff may be required to transfer to any of council's work locations with notice. Council currently has depots located at Arana Hills, Bribie Island, Burpengary, Dayboro, Deception Bay, Caboolture, Margate, Petrie, Samford, Woodford and a range of other facilities located throughout the region.
