The Asset Maintenance department is responsible for the maintenance and renewal of Council’s assets throughout the region. The areas of responsibility are primarily Roads and Drains, Parks, Cleansing, Construction, Fleet and Building and Facilities infrastructure. The Asset Maintenance department is one of the largest departments within Council, maintaining essential community infrastructure across the Moreton Bay region
Your responsibilities will include performing daily preventative and corrective maintenance including mandatory annual safety inspections (and Certificates of Inspection where applicable) to Council's fleet, plant and small equipment assets, conducting regular onsite repair work and servicing as required, providing guidance to apprentices and participate in the after hours call out roster
To be successful in this role you must possess a minimum of a recognised trade certificate as a heavy vehicle motor mechanic/diesel fitter, a current HR class driver's license, experience in maintenance and repair/overhaul of light, medium and heavy vehicles and mobile plant and hold or be willing to obtain (within 12 months of appointment) a Queensland Recognised Road Worthy Examiners License for Heavy Commercial - up to 16t GVM, Light Commercial and Passenger and Heavy/Light Trailers.

Package: from $62,237pa to $63,979pa & 9 day fortnight/76 hour fortnight, up to 12% superannuation, leave loading, 4 weeks annual leave
Council’s work locations have local parking.
- Applicants will be required to undergo a physical and hearing assessment with an independent professional nominated by MBRC as part of the recruitment process for this role as well as a National Police History Check.
- The appointed wage level will be dependent upon the successful candidates level of experience, skills and qualifications.
- This role requires the participation in council's "After Hours On-Call and Programmed Overtime Roster" service.
Please note that whilst the current work location for this position is specified above, staff may be required to transfer to any of council's work locations with notice. Council currently has depots located at Arana Hills, Bribie Island, Burpengary, Dayboro, Deception Bay, Caboolture, Margate, Petrie, Woodford and a range of other facilities located throughout the region.
