The primary focus of our Drainage Waterways and Coastal Planning department is to plan, manage and design the region's coastal, stormwater and floodplain management infrastructure, including built and natural form assets, consistent with Council's corporate strategic vision, policies and strategies.

About the Opportunity:

As our Senior Engineer/Planner Stormwater Infrastructure, you will provide technical engineering advice and undertake moderately complex investigations for a range of stormwater infrastructure, drainage, flood and water quality related matters to meet the needs of the community within the Moreton Bay Regional Council area.

You will act as a technical lead and key point of contact providing specialist advice to key stakeholders in relation to moderately complex stormwater, drainage infrastructure, water quality and flood management matters and investigations. You will investigate moderately complex stormwater infrastructure, drainage, water quality and localised flooding problems and prepare and technical reports and recommendations to ensure project outcomes are met.

You will prepare and present complex technical reports and correspondence describing the outcome of engineering investigations and complete preliminary design and preparation of cost estimates for stormwater, drainage, water quality and flooding infrastructure projects.

You will prepare and present clear and concise technical reports, letters, and presentations describing the outcomes of coastal planning investigations and liaise with local and state departments and prepare applications for permits and approvals to undertake a range of stormwater & waterway management activities and projects.

You will build strong relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders to ensure stormwater & waterway infrastructure and service delivery outcomes are achieved.

About you:

We are seeking some who has comprehensive knowledge and experience in stormwater infrastructure management and stormwater infrastructure planning and design. You will have considerable experience in completing complex technical investigation relating to stormwater.

You will have the ability to apply critical thinking, reasoning, evaluation and decision making skill and experience in the preparation and presentation of complex technical reports and recommendations. 

You will be a great communicator and have the ability to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

You will hold Degree in Civil or Environmental engineering, Planning or equivalent.
