This role sits within our Cultural Services Department, which includes Heritage and Museums, Galleries, Libraries, and Cultural Activation. Cultural Services aims to provide engaging leisure and learning experiences by connecting people to resources and each other. We strive for excellence when delivering exhibitions, information, collections, programs, public art and performances for our community and visitors. Council currently has museums located at Bribie Island, Redcliffe, and Whiteside.

About our opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Museum Leader to lead our team at the Redcliffe Museum!
As Museum Leader, you will lead the team in presenting a continual exhibition and public program to diverse audiences and support the development of team skills to achieve positive visitor experiences! You will be responsible for the management of museum operations and will be required to collate and analyse statistics, prepare team rosters and a range of venue performance reports.
To be successful in this role you will develop and manage relationships with local community stakeholders to inform museum exhibitions and programs and present the museum as a welcoming and engaging space.
In addition, you will contribute to the broader Cultural Services department initiatives, strategies and service enhancement opportunities and will maintain a customer centric culture of high performance and accountability.
Museums are open to the public Wednesday to Friday, 10am to 4pm; Saturday and Sunday, 10am - 3pm. This position requires the successful team member to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days per week as part of the ordinary hours.
As an influential, proactive and passionate leader you will be able to demonstrate your experience and commitment to the operations of a visitor focussed cultural facility and have the ability to:
- build positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- engage local communities
- develop team and individual capabilities
- foster a healthy inclusive and well-connected workplace
Well versed with strategy development and business documentation, you will also be proficient and accustomed to developing business plans, undertaking financial management and managing complex projects.
Preferably, to strengthen your skillset and knowledge base you will have:
- a tertiary qualification in Cultural Services and/or equivalent experience
- context and an understanding for political and organisation environments similar to Local Government; and
- current Working with children card for child related employment from Blue Card Services (Blue Card)
Term: Permanent Full Time
Award/Level: Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 4 of the Moreton Bay Regional Council EBA4 Certified Agreement
- $80,265 pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading
- 72.5 hour fortnight
- 9 day fortnight
