Join City of Moreton Bay as an Environmental Health Officer, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
In this role, you will be responsible for effectively delivering public and environmental health programs by undertaking investigations, assessments and providing professional advice and quality customer service. This will involve:
- identifying, investigating and reporting on matters relating to state government legislation, local laws and subordinate local laws relevant to food safety, environment, public health risks, noise and nuisance
- undertaking routine monitoring of licensable businesses under State legislation and local laws
- assessing and administering applications for licences, approvals, renewals and transfers
You will interact, educate and liaise in a professional, courteous manner with members of the public, the private sector, local, state or federal governments, other Council staff and Councillors in providing specialist advice.

About You
You will bring your knowledge and experience in environmental health to investigate, analyse and research a range of regulatory matters across our diverse region. We'll be looking for you to demonstrate your:
- Legislation knowledge on the Food Act 2006, Environmental Protection Act 1994, Public Health Act 2005, Public Health (Infection Control for Personal Appearance Services) Act 2003, and the ability to quickly come up to speed with our own City of Moreton Bay local laws.

Communication skills including the ability to manage customer expectations and explain relevant processes clearly and concisely.

Research, analysis and investigation skills to assess applications, conduct inspections and produce effective outcomes within the parameters of relevant legislation, guidelines, local laws and Council policies.
- Report writing ability, experienced in writing concise, professional reports and correspondence.
- Degree or post graduate qualification in Environmental Health.
Given the nature of these roles, you will be willing and able to participate in an on-call roster.
