The Details:
- Permanent Full Time | 76 hour fortnight
- This team currently works full time hours over 4 days/week - Tuesday to Friday 6:30am to 4:30pm. 12 month trial.
- Starting at $74,199 pa (ie. $37.55/hour) - incl. industry and uniform allowance + 12% super (level 3). Please note, progression in remuneration (up to Level 5) is available for this position upon meeting performance and training requirements outlined in a structured framework.
- Location: Arana Hills
Preserve and manage our urban trees across the City of Moreton Bay area. Working within a small crew alongside an experienced Crew Leader, you’ll play a key role in maintaining Council’s valuable tree assets so they remain healthy, safe and well maintained.
This is a hands on role involving a range of arboriculture and tree maintenance activities across parks, streetscapes and other public spaces.
Some of the tasks include:
- tree pruning and trimming
- lifting tree canopies to improve visibility and safety
- removing damaged or dangerous limbs and trees
- tree planting and establishment activities
- clearing fallen branches and tree related debris
- operating equipment such as chainsaws and wood chippers
- undertaking other general arboriculture and tree maintenance tasks

About you
You’ll have recent practical experience undertaking arboriculture or tree maintenance activities and be comfortable performing a range of hands on, outdoor tasks.
You’ll also bring:
- practical experience across a range of arboriculture or tree maintenance activities
- the knowledge and physical capability to safely perform manual tasks
- experience safely using relevant tools, plant and equipment
- sound communication skills and a team oriented approach
In addition to these skills and experience, successful candidates must possess:
- a current truck licence (minimum MR - medium rigid)
- a Construction Induction Card
