About our opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Communications Officer to join our Cultural Services department at North Lakes!

In this role, you will develop and implement promotional strategies on partnership with the department’s libraries, galleries, heritage and museums, and cultural activation branches.

You will manage the departmental communications activities within budgetary constraints and develop, initiate and report on a suite of highly engaging communications deliverables and campaigns.

In addition, you will develop high level relationships with a broad range of Cultural Services stakeholders, key partners and community organisations.

It is a requirement for applicants to hold a Degree in Marketing and/or Communications or have the equivalent experience.

About you

You will bring cultural sector communications experience from working in one or more of the following industries, libraries, galleries, heritage, museums or performing arts. Working across a range of print and digital channels, your written and communication skills will be tailored to channel, accurate, creative and highly engaging.

You will have the ability to build quality relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Importantly you will ensure you achieve a high-level understanding of the Cultural Services department’s operations and support senior leaders and their teams to promote and develop their business.

With a highly developed understanding of social media platforms, you will identify and review emerging trends and analytics and provide recommendations for improvements.

Experience working in SharePoint and Canva is highly desirable.
