  • Permanent Full Time
  • Starting at $81,122 pa (includes industry and uniform allowances) + super (up to 12%) + a commuter use vehicle + an additional $3,000 yearly retention bonus for the first 3 years (paid biannually in May and Nov, min 6 month service required by payment date)
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream B) - Level 9 of the EBA5
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 76 hour fortnight
  • Location: Petrie - please note, this position will be moving to a Narangba location in the coming months.

About our opportunity

This position will have you allocating and delivering assigned maintenance, service and repair tasks and leading the team of our internal trade team members. You will be carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance including mandatory annual inspections of all vehicles, plant and equipment, diagnosing vehicle faults and determining remedial action including procuring parts and materials if required and providing technical advice and guidance to our mechanics and apprentices to assist with analyzing problems.

This position will also have you engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. 

This role requires the participation in council's "After Hours On-Call and Programmed Overtime Roster" service.

About you

Ideally you will have demonstrated experience and ability leading a work team within a similar environment. You will have comprehensive industry skills when it comes to undertaking mechanical maintenance activities, a high level of communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to work with a range of technology solutions to deliver the responsibilities of this position. 

You will also hold a current truck licence (minimum HR class), a nationally recognized trade certificate as a heavy vehicle motor mechanic/diesel fitter and either hold or be willing to obtain your Light Commercial and Passenger and Heavy/Light Trailers within 12 months of appointment.
