The details:

  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
  • $94,415 pa + 12% super
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 5 of EBA5
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Our Strathpine offices have local parking on site and are close to public transport networks, making for an easy commute.

As our Project Officer - Transport Infrastructure you will, provide technical advice and project support into the planning and design of complete streets and transport network management to achieve best practice integrated transport and place making outcomes.

You will have the chance to be out in the field on occasion to undertake site investigations, develop and prepare concept plans for capital works projects and assist with the implementation of integrated transport initiatives consistent with Council’s strategic transport policies.

  • Be a part of the team who provide technical support and deliver innovative and quality solutions that integrate community needs including road safety, transport efficiency, water sensitive design, streetscaping, urban design and green infrastructure outcomes.
  • You will provide input into the preparation of the annual capital works program to seek prompt delivery of integrated transport projects.
  • You will work directly with our community helping to respond to customer service requests in a timely manner and consistent with good community outcomes.

About you

We are seeking someone who has experience in integrated transport engineering, planning and design. You will have practical  experience in the use of Australian Standards and design guidelines relevant to the design of transport and public realm infrastructure.

You will; 

  • have the ability to investigative, analyse and research in relation to customer service requests and other projects.
  • be able to adapt solutions to changing political environments whilst maintaining a strong customer focus consistent with strategic outcomes.
  • have an accurate approach to preparation of detailed reports and presentations that are succinct and easy to interpret by both technical and non-technical audiences.

You will hold Degree in civil engineering, transport engineering or planning, town planning or equivalent experience and General Induction Licence (White Card).
