About our opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Exhibition Support Officer to join our Museums’ Exhibition and Collections Team!

As Exhibition Support Officer, you will provide administrative and practical support with the development and delivery of exhibitions, collection projects and public programs.  With a key focus on informed and exceptional visitor experiences, the Exhibition Support Officer will assist the team by:

  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders and industry partners,
  • Assist with supervision, install and dismantling of exhibition projects,
  • Updating and maintaining digital reports, documents, project proposals, exhibition schedules and collection records
  • Supporting research and development of interactive digital experiences
  • Promoting an understanding of Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and diverse cultures

Council currently has museums located at Bribie Island, Redcliffe, and Whiteside.

This position requires the successful applicant to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days as part of the ordinary hours. We anticipate the roster will be Monday to Friday with an RDO every second Monday, the successful candidate may be required to work weekends based on operational requirements. 

About you

To be successful in this role you will have sound communication, organisation, problem-solving and administrative skills to contribute to the team delivery of high-quality visitor experiences which support Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples values and perspectives. 

With a keen interest in the museums sector, you will have experience in and knowledge of the development and delivery of innovative exhibitions, collections-related work and the ability to achieve within a fast-paced environment.
