  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
  • $94,415  $108,874 pa + 12% super
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 5 to 6 of EBA5

    The appointed wage level will be dependent upon the successful candidate's level of experience, skills and qualifications. 
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Strathpine

Join City of Moreton Bay as a Project Engineer, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.

As a Project Engineer you will support a Project Manager to implement and maintain project controls to deliver complex projects including roads, paths, stormwater drainage, public amenities, sporting and community faculties and coastal assets, working across the whole of project life including and ensuring adherence to time cost quality and safety objectives. You'll so:

  • Prepare project reports including status and procurement recommendations.
  • Review and audit engineering drawings and technical specifications for construction projects 
  • Assist with co-ordination of construction issues and consult with the Project Manager regarding contract compliance.
  • Provide construction surveillance and auditing of construction and workplace health and safety legislation, standards and other regulations 
  • Provide oversight to the team to achieve a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused team culture.
  • Build strong relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

About you

We're looking for engineers with approximately 3 years + experience delivering construction projects including site visits and audits,  understanding of quotation documentation, schedules. You'll also bring:

  • Sound knowledge and application of current construction legislation, Australian standards, Workplace Health and Safety requirements
  • Considerable experience providing project advice on contract related matters
  • Considerable knowledge and applied understanding of project management and engineering practices.
     
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities 
  • Strong communication skills to communicate planning concepts and matters in a simple and concise manner
  • Actively contribute to fostering a healthy, inclusive and well-connected workplace.
  • Degree in architecture, civil engineering, or project management or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Construction Induction Card competency that has been used or obtained within the past 2 years (required).
  • Current C class driver’s licence (required).
