As the Fleet Workshop Operations Team Leader, you'll be ensuring safe, effective and efficient workshop service delivery by providing senior leadership and supervision to Council's fleet workshop supervisors and the broader workshop operations team - including all tradespersons and apprentices - with a focus on quality service outcomes and optimal customer centered service.
This will involve:
- developing and building leadership capability within the Fleet workshop maintenance team/s
- contributing to actively identifying, developing and implementing continuous improvement opportunities
- identifying and resolving potential operational performance and financial performance issues for the workshop operations service delivery model - including managing operational budgets for the workshops accordingly
- building and developing a safe, high performing, customer focused team team to efficiently handle operational needs
- participating in council's "After Hours On-Call and Programmed Overtime Roster" service.

About you
Ideally you will have demonstrated current or recent experience working within a similar position. You'll definitely have demonstrated strong experience in leading and developing teams, well developed experience in maintenance and repair/overhaul of light, medium, heavy vehicles, plant and equipment with experience in diagnostics on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems and experience applying workplace health and safety legislation and practices within a workshop environment.
You must also hold a recognised trade certificate as a heavy vehicle motor mechanic/diesel fitter, a current truck licence (HR - heavy rigid class) and either hold or be willing to obtain a Queensland recognised Approved Examiners and Nominees Accreditation for Heavy Vehicles up to 16T, Heavy Trailers up to 10T, Light Commercial and Passenger Vehicles and Light Trailers up to 4.5T within 6 months of commencement. Holding a Certificate III or IV in Frontline Management paired with the above mentioned qualifications, skills and experience would be considered highly desirable.
