We are seeking a friendly, reliable and motivated University Student to work in our Development Services Planning team as a Student Engineer.
This position will provide you with the opportunity to work within Council’s Development Services team to gain practical experience relevant to your university studies. You will work alongside professionals in this field where you will gain some great knowledge and experience in the area of your studies as you assist the team in research and development projects relevant to the work areas and academic studies, that contribute to organisational outcomes and personal professional development.
You will:
- apply academic theories and concepts to real-world projects and initiatives
- assist in the preparation and organisation of documentation including, stakeholder correspondence, briefing and presentation materials and reports
- display professionalism in all interactions with stakeholders, building positive relationships and maintaining confidentiality
- work under close direction and undertake activities of a supportive nature
We are looking for a student that is currently enrolled in a field of study relevant to Civil Engineering. Your enthusiasm and drive will be paired with exceptional customer service skills as we strive to provide a great experience for all our stakeholders we interact with.
You will also have:
- experience providing customer/administrative support and assistance, including the preparation of high-quality correspondence and documentation
- well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- demonstrated strong research skills to drive independent gathering, interpretation and application of information
- ability to work both independently and as part of a team, including planning and prioritisation of work.
