The details:
- Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
- $71,286 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + 12% super + leave loading. Progression in remuneration (up to Level 8 - $75,378 pa inc. allowances + a commuter use vehicle + super) is available for this position upon meeting performance and training requirements outlined in a structured crew leader framework.

- 76 hour fortnight
- Location: Site based with a home depot location of Petrie - please note, this position's allocated home depot will be moving to Narangba in the coming months. Please also note - travel allowance is applicable for distances travelled further than your allocated home depot location.

As a Construction Crew Leader with City of Moreton Bay, you'll play a critical role in delivering essential infrastructure projects that support our community's growth and development. You'll be working on projects related to road rehabilitation, resealing, stormwater drainage, landslips, and other infrastructure improvements as required. This position requires technical skill, leadership and a commitment to excellence.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- undertaking general labouring tasks on civil construction projects
- directing internal and external work teams
- interpreting technical project plans and site specifications
- conducting precise survey measurements and site set outs
- strictly complying with safety and quality standards
- monitoring project progress and reporting to the supervisor
We're looking for someone with a proactive problem solving approach, attention to detail in project execution, effective resource management, ability to work in diverse and dynamic environments and adaptability across different project scales and complexities.

About you
Ideally you will have recent experience in a similar position using your comprehensive skill set. You should be able demonstrate strong knowledge of construction materials, plant and equipment capabilities, including hand tools, with a solid understanding of survey principles, current survey technology and construction specifications and standards. We are seeking someone with proven experience in leading construction teams, including managing contractors across various projects, and who shows proficiency or quick learning ability with technologies and software programs.
Safety is a key priority for us as an organisation, and we will be seeking candidates who not only have the knowledge and physical ability to safely undertake the manual tasks required in this role, but also have a genuine desire to contribute to a positive safety culture.
Paired with the above mentioned skills and experience we'll need you to hold:
- a current truck licence (minimum class MR - medium rigid)
- a Construction Induction card
- a high risk work dogging (HRW - DG) licence or the ability to obtain within 6 months of commencement
- electrical awareness certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of commencement
Having a Certificate III in Civil Construction or a similar qualification in a relevant field is highly desirable. However, this qualification is essential for advancing through the Crew Leader Framework.
