The details:

  • Full Time Contract | 4 years
  • $166,411pa - $184,951pa + 12% super (TRP $189k-$210k)

We are on the search for THREE Commercial and Procurement Lead's to come on board!  

This is an exciting time at Moreton Bay in the procurement space, as we are relatively early in our move to a strategic contracting model and therefore present a timely opportunity for you to bring your ideas to help us shape the future direction of Council procurement and contract management processes.

Reporting directly through to our Manager Procurement, each role will partner with areas of our organisation and have a unique area of focus:

  • Construction
  • Corporate Services
  • Operational Goods and Services

Stakeholder engagement and building quality working relationships throughout the organisation will be imperative to success in this role, as it's through partnering with the subject matter experts that you get the best results. In addition, you'll:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies focused on secure best value for money, mitigating risks, and optimising outcomes for Council and the community.
  • Drive negotiations for high-value contracts, securing terms that deliver significant cost savings, mitigate risks, and align with the organisation’s strategic goals.
  • Undertake reporting and analysis for evaluation of compliance, analysis of expenditure, review of savings opportunities, and assessment of benefits realisation.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a small team of procurement specialists (approx 1-3).

About you

This is a great opportunity for an experienced commercial procurement professional to really have a voice and make a difference in Australia's 3rd largest Local Government.

Bringing extensive experience developing and implementing category plans, subsequent sourcing activities, contract management and supplier performance management, will quickly help you hit the ground running from a technical standpoint.

We will look to you for your strategic, conceptual, research and analytical skills, combined with the demonstrated ability to lead, manage, develop and motivate a team to achieve results in a corporate environment.

As a natural communicator, you will be confident in communicating in a number of forums to influence and negotiate integrated and sustainable outcomes, and gain trust and elicit support when required.

Whilst we are a growing team, we are still relatively small in size so are seeking people who are happy to roll up their sleeves and pitch in to get things done when needed.
