- Neighbourhood and Precinct Planning Team
- Growth Areas Team
- Planning Scheme Team
The Strategic Planning and Place Making Department takes a strategic approach to long term planning and policy development to shape the growth, urban form, accessibility, and livability of our region whilst managing natural hazards and protecting and conserving our natural resources, environment, and heritage. The department’s plans, programs, and initiatives are structured to meet the requirements of the Southeast Queensland Regional Plan and related State legislation, in addition to supporting local demands and needs.
You will
- support the delivery of strategic planning projects - involving research and analysis, key stakeholder engagement, and preparing reports and documents
- provide technical input into the development and implementation of key policy relating to the planning scheme, infrastructure planning, significant major projects and key placemaking activities
- provide input into the review and updating of key policy relating to the planning scheme, including assisting with the plan making process and associated community consultation activities; and
- provide routine technical advice relating to strategic land use planning matters in accordance with legislative, policy and business requirements
About you
This role will suit motivated planners with a range of experience that is looking for a rewarding career opportunity with City of Moreton Bay Council.
We are seeking a planner who is a team player, and keen to apply and expand their knowledge and experience in strategic land use planning, within a positive and collaborative environment focused on achieving quality outcomes for our communities. You will have good time management skills that support operating in a fast-paced work environment. When providing technical advice, your excellent communication skills help you meaningfully engage about planning concepts.
Additionally, you will have
- knowledge and experience in planning and urban design processes, relevant state and local government legislation and statutory plans, including the Planning Act 2016 State Planning Policy 2017, ShapingSEQ - the SEQ Regional Plan, and local government planning schemes
- well-developed research and analytical skills and the ability to prepare technical reports and documentation
- hold a Degree in Urban and Regional planning, or equivalent
