Join City of Moreton Bay as a Principal Communications Officer, and help inform and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.

Our Corporate Communications team is growing and we are excited to be on the search for this brand new leadership role to drive the delivery of projects that support our growing city and Council.

This is an opportunity to be involved in the strategic communication planning for such a great diversity of topics.  Where else but Local Government will you support strategic communications for Local Laws, Planning, Waste Services, Economic Development, Sport and Recreation, Community Facilities, Libraries... and so much more!

As one of three Principals in the team, you will lead a team to develop expert marketing and communication advice and services, including strategic public relations support to the Mayor, Councillors, and other key stakeholders across Council.

Reporting directly to the Corporate Communications Manager, you will be integral to ensuring marketing and communication is coordinated across council, and communication strategies and plans are delivered at a high standard and embedded into business processes.

In addition, you'll:

  • Deliver a consistently high standard of written communications, stakeholder engagement, collateral and reporting.
  • Identify, plan and develop highly effective marketing and communications opportunities and content that promote Council.
  • Manage potential reputational risks by developing suitable communication strategies.
  • Value-add in the City of Moreton Bay brand identify project.
  • Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with local, regional and metropolitan stakeholders.
  • Obtain input, monitor and report on stakeholder communication needs, interests and issues.
  • Monitor social media and media coverage and provide relevant reporting to manage crisis situations, measure effectiveness of campaigns and inform content.
  • Guide digital communication content across multiple projects.
  • Prepare high quality documentation ranging in complexity from correspondence to reports which are relevant to the audience.
  • Participate in systems, policy and process improvement initiatives to improve operations.
