The details:
- Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
- $71,286 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + super (level 6)
- Please note, progression in remuneration (up to Level 8 - $75,378 pa inc. allowances + super) is available for this position upon meeting performance and training requirements outlined in a structured crew leader framework.

As a Parks Crew Leader, you will play a vital role in coordinating and undertaking landscape maintenance operations while leading a small team of 1-2 operational team members across various green space environments. Your primary focus will be undertaking general labouring duties related to horticultural maintenance tasks and can include:
- mowing and brush cutting
- planting and mulching
- pruning and weeding
- chemical application
- using appropriate equipment/machinary required for tasks
- driving the truck and trailer to and from site
In addition to your fieldwork, you'll also handle basic administrative responsibilities by utilising digital tools (tablets or computers) to create and update work orders, develop and review maintenance schedules and identify and allocate the necessary resources and materials for tasks and projects. The combination of hands-on leadership and organisation management will ensure the successful upkeep of our green open space assets.

Please note - safety is a key priority for us as an organisation, and we will be seeking candidates who not only have the knowledge and physical ability to safely undertake the manual tasks required in this role, we want you to have a genuine desire to contribute to a positive safety culture.
About you
Ideally you will have proven experience in a similar role, successfully leading a small crew in horticultural maintenance tasks as outlined above. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to manage administrative duties and effectively utilise the necessary technology software and applications for this position.
In addition to the skills and experience mentioned, you must also possess:
- A current Medium Rigid (MR) class truck licence or above
- A Construction Induction Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
- Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control (ACDC) certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of commencement)
While not mandatory for initial employment, a Certificate III in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens, Landscape Construction or another similar qualification is desirable. However, this qualification will be required for progression within the Crew Leader Framework.
