  • Maximum Term Full Time | 9 day fortnight
  • This is a Parental Leave relief role and it is anticipated appointment will be until July 2026.
  • From $101,881 pa up to $108,874+ 12% super (level 6)
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Strathpine

Our Green Infrastructure team works to improve road safety for motorists and wildlife by planning and designing Moreton Bay Region’s network of fauna movement infrastructures. These infrastructures include fauna rope bridges, fauna underpasses, roadside (animal exclusion fencing) refuge poles, nest boxes, environmental line marking and driver awareness signage.

The Green Infrastructure team is also responsible for monitoring infrastructure use by wildlife as well as managing a large-scale tree planting program to compensate for unavoidable tree loss associated with Council’s road construction program.

As our Senior Environmental Planner - Green Infrastructure you will, integrate ecological science and engineering, to provide technical assistance and specialist advice for the planning and design of green infrastructure networks and facilitate green infrastructure projects (such as fauna crossings, infrastructure monitoring and other green infrastructure initiatives).

You will develop ideas, prepare concept plans and lead the implementation of green infrastructure projects to achieve the outcomes of the green infrastructure strategy and integrated transport strategy.

About you

Driven by a desire to contribute you will have comprehensive knowledge and experience in the planning and design of green infrastructure projects, specifically a strong understanding of ecology and wildlife behaviour around linear infrastructures. Transport planning and /or civil engineering related experience would be advantageous.

You will have experience in the integration of green and fauna movement infrastructure with other council-managed networks with a strong emphasis on re-establishing green network linkages across and along transport corridors. 

We are a collaborative team and you will have well developed people and relationship management skills with the ability to work in a positive team environment communicating and engaging effectively at all levels.

Experience reviewing designs and understanding of engineering overlap within this role will be highly advantageous. 

You will hold a Degree in Transport, Urban or Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental or Transport Engineering or equivalent
