Join City of Moreton Bay's Advocacy Team and play a key role in driving Council’s involvement in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and other major projects!
We are on the search for this key leadership role in our Advocacy Team.
This is your chance to join us at such a unique point in time, driving projects that will leverage the benefits of these exciting key infrastructure and city-shaping projects that have potential to make a real impact on the lives of our community.
This lead role will bring a focus on advocating for strategic projects, infrastructure opportunities, and leveraging the benefits of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games for the city and funding and grant opportunities.
We will look to you to provide a source of expertise and to quickly build positive and productive relationships with key parties including other internal departments, Councillors, State and Federal members, and government departments to deliver key outcomes. You'll also:
- Lead project teams and coordinate specialist inputs to deliver complex and multi-disciplinary proposals and projects across Council
- Lead the development, implementation, management and evaluation of strategic and tactical plans and programs driving stakeholder engagement to enhance Council’s reputation and deliver investment with our city.
- Deliver a consistently high standard of strategic projects, written communication, collateral and reporting.
- Oversee and provide mentoring and direction to one direct report.

About the team
This role sits within our External Relations - Advocacy team, a close knit team of 7 working in partnership with Council divisions and external stakeholders to drive strategic coordination, advocacy, government relations and other services that enhance Council’s reputation and deliver positive economic and community outcomes which support Council’s strategic goals.
Our advocacy agenda is focused on creating positive collaboration between all levels of government to unlock our city's potential. Our team seeks to bring challenges and opportunities to the attention of decision-makers through constructive engagement and collaboration. This ensures policy and investment decisions of other levels of government and other strategic partners deliver the greatest benefit to our city and support our community’s vision for City of Moreton Bay.
About you
We are seeking an exceptional communicator with experience in building quality working relationships and driving productive government relations and advocacy looking for that next challenge!
You will be excited by working with a range of professionals focused on different advocacy projects, and bring with you experience in providing expert advice and leading and managing complex reputational matters.
Your strong influencing and negotiation skills paired with an understanding of strategic and political perspectives on federal, state and local matters will quickly have you become a valuable member of our team.
