  • 2x Permanent Full Time positions | 9 day fortnight
  • From $79,563pa up to $98,418pa + 12% super (level 3 up to Level 5)
  • Great news - EBA6 currently is underway, with a proposed increase of 5% effective 1 July 2025
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.

Join City of Moreton Bay as a Development Services Engineer and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.

Our Development Services team are shaping a better Moreton Bay by assessing and managing the effects of development on the community and environment of Moreton Bay, working in partnership with the development industry to design and construct infrastructure for the community as well as levying and recovering infrastructure charges to fund new and upgraded major community infrastructure.

As an Engineer within the Development Services team, you will provide routine technical advice and undertake the engineering assessment of low complexity development matters and the impact of development on transport and stormwater infrastructure. You will be a team player and contribute to a positive team environment in order to achieve a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused culture.

In addition, you’ll:

  • Support the coordination of the development assessment process and the recovery of the cost of infrastructure, including negotiation of routine infrastructure agreements
  • Undertake site inspections and investigations to support the engineering assessment of development applications including resolution of transport and stormwater issues
  • Conduct research and analysis and prepare development application recommendations
  • Engage proactively with key stakeholders to ensure quality service outcomes are achieved.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • A current Driver’s Licence
  • A valid Construction Induction Card (obtained within the last 2 years) or a commitment to obtain one prior to starting

Graduates will have the opportunity to:

  • Build your expertise in planning, design, and construction of transport and stormwater infrastructure
  • Be mentored by experienced professionals in applying planning legislation, policies, and engineering standards
  • Develop stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills in real-world infrastructure and commercial agreements

Experienced engineers will:

  • Apply your technical and strategic insight to complex infrastructure planning and compliance assessments
  • Influence decision-making and shape development outcomes through your understanding of the State Planning Policy, SEQ Regional Plan, and local frameworks
  • Play a key role in mentoring and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team environment
