We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Officer – Engineering to join our Development Services Department in the south team and help shape the future of infrastructure in the City of Moreton Bay.

As a member of our engineering team, you’ll play a crucial role in auditing construction works, assessing compliance with development approvals, and supporting the delivery of high quality transport and stormwater infrastructure. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a collaborative environment that values innovation, sustainability, and community outcomes

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conducting construction audit inspections for development works to be handed over to Council
  • Providing technical input into the assessment of compliance with development approvals
  • Reviewing construction testing, as-constructed data, and associated documentation for accuracy
  • Preparing high quality technical reports, procedures, and correspondence
  • Coordinating and endorsing consultant reports and management plans (e.g., pavement design, traffic and construction management)
  • Supporting on/off maintenance processes and infrastructure handover obligations
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure service excellence
  • Contributing to a positive, high performing team culture focused on continuous improvement and customer service

About You

You’re a solution focused professional with a strong foundation in civil engineering and a passion for delivering infrastructure that meets community needs. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities with ease, and enjoy working collaboratively to achieve shared goals.

What We're Looking For

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant qualification
  • Current “C” Class Driver’s Licence and White Card (or willingness to obtain)
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering assessment and compliance
  • Solid understanding of transport and stormwater infrastructure design and construction
  • Awareness of the State Planning Policy, SEQ Regional Plan, and relevant planning schemes
  • Strong communication and time management skills with the ability to engage effectively across diverse stakeholders
