As a Senior Coastal Planning Officer you will have the opportunity to provide specialist technical input and coordination to support Council’s coastal infrastructure, canals and foreshore management programs. Within the Coastal Infrastructure Planning team you will be the technical specialist and key point of contact for statutory approvals, coastal planning, and coastal management matters to drive integrated and sustainable planning outcomes.

About you
We are seeking a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in coastal zone planning and management, and a strong background in supporting coastal infrastructure and foreshore management projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to conduct field and site inspections, gather and analyse data to support project outcomes, and apply critical thinking and sound decision-making throughout the planning process.
This role requires demonstrated expertise in the preparation of applications for permits and approvals to undertake a range of coastal management activities and projects, including close liaison with state and local government agencies. The role inherently requires excellent communication skills, including report writing, to effectively engage with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
You will have a degree in Coastal Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Management, Planning or equivalent. You will have a current “C” Class Driver’s licence.
