Join City of Moreton Bay as a Biosecurity Officer, and play a vital role in protecting our environment and shaping resilient communities for the future.

This dynamic role combines fieldwork, leadership, and community engagement. As a Biosecurity Officer, you’ll oversee the management of biosecurity risk across the City, including: 

  • Leading a dedicated team of Pest Plant Officers to implement strategic control initiatives
  • Engaging with landowners, contractors, and government agencies to promote compliance and raise awareness
  • Conducting field assessments and monitoring activities to identify and manage Restricted Biosecurity Matter
  • Supporting Council’s fire ant response through ongoing surveillance and reporting

About you

With your strong interpersonal skills, you will be able to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders and landowners on various biosecurity matters. 

You will have experience in leading and motivating a team in the delivery of biosecurity and invasive species management programs, as well as: 

  • Current Agricultural Chemical Distribution Control (ACDC) licence.
  • Current C class driver’s licence.
  • Construction induction card.
  • Knowledge of fire ants and experience with their treatment along with area surveillance techniques would be advantageous.
