    TRP from $215,358pa (base from $189,606pa)
  • Mon - Fri | 38 hour week
  • 5 weeks annual leave
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.

Join City of Moreton Bay as our Library Services Manager and help shape a public library service that supports and inspires our communities today and into the future.

Following a recent internal promotion, we're excited to begin the search for this key leadership role within our cultural services team.

This is your opportunity to step forward in your library career with Australia’s third‑largest Council, leading the delivery of a large, contemporary, and geographically diverse public library network. You’ll guide the service to meet the needs and aspirations of our current and future customers. We'll look to you to drive:

  • Strategic direction and leadership... to a team of over 150 library professionals working across our 10 branches, mobile service, collection development, programming and more.
  • Continuous improvement... foster a culture focused on innovation and evolution within contemporary public libraries - enhancing service delivery, coordinating facility improvement projects, and championing fresh ideas for our growing community.
  • Operational excellence... ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Library Service, overseeing end‑to‑end functions including collection development, customer programming, online and remote service delivery, and the use of facilities as places of refuge during disaster response events.

About you

You’re an experienced leader in libraries, confident navigating complex environments and passionate about delivering exceptional community-focused services... and ready for that next challenge! We will be looking for you to demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership experience with a track record in leading and developing high performing teams.
  • Contemporary library knowledge including a good understanding on effective design and delivery of contemporary library services for diverse communities. You will be excited to bring new and innovative ideas to the table, and showcase your experience in leading change and implementing solutions.
  • Operational and Strategic Capability skilled in financial management and operational oversight, paired with exceptional communication skills and ability to think big picture in a complex, political environment.

You will also need to be available and willing to participate in the on-call roster (approx. 1 in 5 weekends).
