Join City of Moreton Bay in our Corporate Communications team, and help inform and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.

We are excited to be on the search for this this key role that will focus on managing and developing the preparation, delivery and promotion of a range of large-scale evidence-based behaviour change strategies.

This role is ideal for a strategic communicator who understands human behaviour, thrives on translating complexity into clear, motivating messages and wants their work to make a visible, measurable difference.

Partnering with our Waste and Resource Recovery team, you will be the senior marketing strategist that will help drive key messages out to the greater community and measuring the effectiveness of those campaigns. You'll:

  • Lead integrated marketing communications and behaviour change campaigns - ?Provide strategic leadership for multi-stage, multi-channel behaviour change campaigns across, setting the direction for messaging, behavioural prompts and audience strategy to drive measurable community behaviour change aligned with Council’s long-term waste and net-zero objectives.
  • Lead the development and delivery of high-impact communications and media strategies for major waste programs including Garden Organics and recycling behaviour change initiatives ensuring integrated, insight-driven campaigns that increase participation, reduce contamination and strengthen public trust.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams, executive leadership, agencies, and key stakeholders, providing expert direction and strategic oversight to ensure coordinated campaign delivery, consistent messaging and effective community engagement.
  • Review, measure and leverage insights, behavioural data, contamination trends and service analytics to shape marketing and communication strategies, ensuring campaigns are targeted, evidence-based and evaluated for impact, efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Champion a collaborative, high-performance culture by sharing achievements, enhancing cross-team alignment that celebrates program milestones, reinforce organisational priorities and strengthen staff engagement.

About you

To be a success in this role you will be an experienced marketing and communications professional and bring experience in leading the design, implementation and evaluation of effective behaviour change strategies, projects and campaigns.

You will be an exceptional communicator, with the proven ability to influence outcomes and effectively deliver messages to a diverse stakeholder group and audience.

With a passion for this topic, paired with extensive knowledge in applying innovative marketing and communication strategies, tactics and technologies to achieve identified goals and influence behaviour, you will quickly become a valuable member of our team.
