The Details:

  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight 
  • $91,155 pa + applicable allowances + 12% super (level 4)
  • 76 hour fortnight
  • Location: Caboolture

As a Supervisor in our Roads and Drains team, you’ll play a key role in planning, coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of maintenance crews. You’ll lead a team of 10–15 Labourers, Leading Hands and Operators, ensuring smooth workflow, safe practices and efficient service delivery across our roads and drainage civil infrastructure assets.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise daily operations, fostering a strong culture of safety, teamwork, development and quality maintenance outcomes.
  • Manage work programs and resources, overseeing scheduled and reactive maintenance to ensure timely, cost‑effective outcomes aligned with Council standards.
  • Respond to customer requests, providing clear communication, timely updates and practical advice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance, supporting crews and contractors in identifying, troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues.
  • Oversee procurement and contractor performance, ensuring works are delivered within budget, scope and agreed quality expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including WHS, environmental and heritage requirements, as well as Council policies and safe work procedures.
  • Support strategic planning, contributing to budget preparation, equipment and resource planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About you

Ideally you’ll bring proven experience in a similar supervisory or operational role, with a solid background in delivering maintenance or construction activities across transport or civil infrastructure. Strong leadership capability is essential, particularly in guiding and supporting operational teams.

We’re looking for someone with well‑developed numeracy skills, clear written and verbal communication, and confidence using technology and a range of software applications.

Safety is one of our core organisational priorities. We’re seeking a person who not only has the knowledge and physical capacity to safely perform tasks but also demonstrates a genuine commitment to promoting and maintaining a positive safety culture within their team.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • A current driver licence (minimum C Class)
  • A Construction Induction Card
  • A Certificate III in Civil Construction or a similar qualification
