Join City of Moreton Bay as a Community Development Officer (Young People),and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
In this role, you will lead initiatives that strengthen the wellbeing, inclusion and participation of young people across our region. Working collaboratively with community organisations, government agencies and internal Council teams, you will develop and deliver programs, partnerships and strategies that respond to the needs and aspirations of young people. Your work will directly contribute to our long‑term Community Wellbeing Strategy 2042, which prioritises inclusion, accessibility and opportunities for all young people to thrive. You will also:
- Collaborate with youth‑focused organisations and government agencies to develop, implement and evaluate initiatives that promote inclusion and respond to emerging needs.
- Coordinate Council interagency networks and participate in community‑led networks to progress shared objectives.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to improve the accessibility and responsiveness of Council programs and services for young people.
- Lead initiatives that build the capability of residents, community organisations and service providers to deliver high‑quality youth programs.
- Advocate for meaningful engagement with young people in service design and delivery.
- Identify current and future trends to inform policy, planning and service development.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and review of community development strategies, action plans and policies.

About you
You’re passionate about supporting young people and dedicated to fostering strong, inclusive communities. You also bring:
- A strong understanding of community development principles and their application in youth-focused contexts.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with experience engaging young people and working with diverse communities.
- Demonstrated experience building and facilitating strategic partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation capabilities.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities and sensitivities.
- Knowledge and experience in project planning and delivery within community development or related fields.
