The Details:

  • 2x Permanent Full-Time roles
  • From $106, 974pa up to $114,317pa + 12% super (level 6)
  • 72.5 hour fortnight, includes RDO
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Caboolture, King Street, local parking, and walking distance to Caboolture train station

As a Senior Planner – Development Services, you’ll play a key role in leading moderately complex development assessments and providing specialist planning advice across council. You’ll work on a broad portfolio of urban design, land use, and infrastructure matters, guiding the delivery of high-quality planning outcomes that respond to the needs of our changing community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assess moderately complex development applications in line with relevant legislation, planning frameworks and organisational requirements.
  • Provide specialist advice on land use, urban design and development matters.
  • Prepare recommendations or act as a delegate for decisions on development applications.
  • Lead infrastructure charge processes and negotiate infrastructure agreements.
  • Conduct site inspections and investigations to resolve development and land use issues.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to Planners, contributing to consistent, high‑quality assessments.
  • Build productive relationships with internal teams, the development industry and community stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a positive, high‑performing and customer‑focused team culture.

About you

You bring strong planning capability, sound judgment and excellent communication skills. You enjoy navigating complexity, leading assessments, and collaborating with others to achieve meaningful planning outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive knowledge of development assessment, planning processes and compliance.
  • Strong understanding of urban design, placemaking and development infrastructure principles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the State Planning Policy, the SEQ Regional Plan, the Planning scheme, and the Adopted Infrastructure Charge Resolution
  • Experience applying planning legislation and frameworks in varied scenarios.
  • The ability to provide technical direction and support to colleagues.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A collaborative working style and commitment to positive team culture.
  • Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • General Induction “White Card” (or willing to obtain) and a Current C Class Driver Licence
