Support our Internal Construction team by operating Council trucks - primarily tipper trucks or water trucks - to transport materials and provide water truck services across the City of Moreton Bay for internal construction work crews.
The Truck Driver role will predominantly operate a tipper truck, while the Water Truck Driver role will predominantly operate a water truck. However, both positions will interchange vehicles as required to meet operational needs.
In these roles, you will:
- Ensure the safe and timely delivery and removal of materials
- Provide water truck services for dust suppression, landscape watering and ground compaction
- Operate tipper trucks, water trucks and other equipment in line with licence and training requirements
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance on trucks and equipment where applicable
- Carry out general labouring tasks when not operating vehicles
Your duties will involve safely transporting, loading and unloading materials at designated locations, operating water trucks effectively, complying with safety regulations, and maintaining efficient work practices. You’ll perform pre‑operation inspections, follow correct watering and loading/unloading procedures, and work closely with construction crews to maximise productivity.
Additionally, you’ll be responsible for keeping your vehicle clean and well maintained, promptly reporting defects, and complying with all relevant Council processes, policies and safety requirements.
About you
You’re a reliable and safety‑focused operator who takes pride in your work and enjoys being part of a team. You’re comfortable operating trucks and working outdoors, and you’re happy to support construction crews where needed.
Ideally you’ll bring:
- Experience operating trucks such as tipper and/or water trucks
- A strong focus on safety, with the ability to follow procedures and instructions
- A good work ethic and willingness to assist with general labouring tasks when required
- The ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with crew members
Mandatory Requirements:
- Minimum Heavy Rigid (HR) class drivers licence
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
