Work as part of our Technical Operations team and play a key role in managing and maintaining Council's road corridor assets including line marking, intelligent transport systems, road furniture, signage, pathways, retaining walls, green infrastructure and other related infrastructure where applicable.
Supported by a Project Officer, you'll provide technical advice and drive the end to end maintenance and renewal strategy for these asset portfolios, ensuring programs are effectively planned, prioritised and delivered.
Key responsibilities include:
- providing specialist technical and strategic advice to support the development, optimisation and delivery of programmed and reactive maintenance activities
- acting as the primary point of contact within Civil Services for road corridor asset matters
- developing and implementing long term maintenance and operational strategies, including inspection regimes, risk based prioritisation, service standards, compliance monitoring and forward works planning
- coordinating the development and delivery of annual maintenance programs and renewal projects across Council's road corridor asset portfolios
- managing relationships with contractors and ensuring the efficient delivery of externally delivered maintenance and renewal works
- ensuring road corridor asset information is accurate and maintained to support reporting, inspection frequencies and strategic forecasting
- undertaking inspections, investigations and research to support risk management, continuous improvement and program development
You'll build strong working relationships across Council, particularly with key personnel and relevant teams including Integrated Transport Planning & Design, Parks & Recreation Planning and Asset Management, while also engaging with contractors, external agencies and community stakeholders to support coordinated service delivery.

About you
You are a technically skilled infrastructure professional with strong operational experience in the maintenance, renewal and rehabilitation of road corridor assets.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- proven experience developing and delivering maintenance and rehabilitation programs across multiple road corridor asset portfolios
- strong knowledge of road corridor assets such as line marking, intelligent transport systems, road furniture, signage, pathways, retaining walls, green infrastructure and other relevant infrastructure
- experience overseeing contractors and coordinating maintenance and renewal works programs
- demonstrated ability to assess asset condition, manage risk and contribute to long term maintenance and asset planning
- sound working knowledge of MUTCD (Qld), AS1742, AS/NZS 3845, AS4678, relevant intelligent transport systems standards and Austroads and TMR guidelines
- excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports and provide professional advice to operational and leadership teams
- strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
- exposure to asset management systems, GIS platforms and data analysis tools
- a current driver’s licence.
