  • $111,788 pa + 12% super (level 6)
  • 72.5 hour fortnight

Join City of Moreton Bay as a Library Branch Leader and help shape vibrant library experiences that enrich and connect our communities for today and tomorrow.

As part of our Cultural Services Department, encompassing Galleries, Museums, Libraries, Heritage and Cultural Activation, you will help create engaging leisure and learning experiences by connecting people to resources and each other, while striving for excellence in the delivery of information, collections, programs and welcoming library spaces for the community. 

To achieve this, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of contemporary, customer focused library services, programs and community engagement activities that meet the needs of a diverse customer base. 
  • Develop and inspire a high performing team, fostering a culture of customer service excellence, accountability and continuous improvement. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local community stakeholders to enhance service outcomes and community connections. 
  • Oversee branch operations, including collection management and maintaining a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment for customers and staff. 
  • Contribute to service planning, projects and continuous improvement initiatives to support the delivery of strategic library outcomes and future branch enhancements.

This position requires the successful applicant to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days as part of the ordinary hours.

About you

You will bring your experience leading public library services and programs, with a focus on delivering quality outcomes for customers and the community. You will have strong community engagement skills and be able to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders. In addition, you will have experience leading and supporting teams to create a positive and inclusive workplace. 

You will also have sound experience in library collection management and contemporary library service practices, along with an understanding of business planning, services delivery, reporting, projects, budgets and facility operations. Knowledge of the Local Government environment will be advantageous. A current Working with Children (Blue Card) is required.
