  • Full Time Contract - 4yrs
  • TRP from $180,577 pa
  • 38 hour week (Monday - Friday)
  • 5 weeks annual leave

About our opportunity

The Building and Facilities unit are responsible for the maintenance of over 1,800 buildings across the City of Moreton Bay, including office buildings, community and sports club halls, public amenities, libraries and galleries, and sports, events and equestrian centres.

Our Coordinator Building Operations and Compliance leads the maintenance and compliance teams (approx 30 people) delivering day-to-day operations, maintenance & compliance programs and minor capital renewals.  Your stakeholders are Council colleagues, leaseholders, community groups and facility users, who are all passionate about the spaces they use and how they’re maintained so excellent communication and best-in-class customer service are essential to build great relationships.

You’ll be focused on:

  • Coordinating Council’s planned and reactive maintenance teams delivering services that meet time, budget, quality, compliance, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Being part of the development and implementation of Council’s building and facilities maintenance and compliance audit program
  • Running operational systems and procedures, and key performance analytics that embed continual improvement of work management and service delivery into the team’s.
  • Acting as a principal point of contact for operations management matters, providing multi-disciplinary advice, innovation and complex problem-solving solutions
  • Championing modern construction solutions and practices for all maintenance activities in line with legislated construction standards, and the effective management of external service providers.

The role is currently based at the Margate Depot with the team moving to the brand new, purpose built Narangba Depot in the coming months. You’ll also be attending sites across the City of Moreton Bay.

About you

This is a great opportunity to bring together your extensive operational and contracted maintenance management skills working with a complex portfolio of properties, along with your people leadership experience to foster a well connected and high performing multi-disciplinary team.

You’ll also have:

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills, including consultancy and contract negotiation
  • Extensive experience leading contract management and administration
  • High-level understanding of multidisciplinary maintenance management and the service delivery across a diverse facilities portfolio involving multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sound financial practices within a legislative environment.
  • Tertiary qualification in in a relevant engineering, architectural, construction field and/or equivalent experience in the industry
  • Current C class driver’s licence (required)
  • Construction Induction Card competency (required, or willing to obtain at own cost)
  • Professional membership to a relevant industry provider or project management qualification is highly regarded.
