The details:

  • Permanent Full Time 
  • $91,222 - $115,334 pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 5 of EBA5
    The appointed wage level will be dependent upon the successful candidate's level of experience, skills and qualifications. 
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Strathpine

About our opportunity

Our Project Management Department annually delivers up to $180M or approximately 550 capital/operational projects ranging from $10k to $20M per year across of variety of assets including roads, paths, bridges, parks, buildings and coastal assets. As a Project Manager - Project Development you'll be the point of contact providing expert advice, innovation and problem solving focused on managing the planning phase for capital works and infrastructure projects. You'll be:

  • Coordinating planning phase concept design for projects, working with internal and external providers, consultants, contractors and project stakeholders;
  • Reviewing project scopes, design review, cost estimation, constructability considerations, contract documentation, specifications, quality and environmental issues
  • Work independently, and interdependently with project managers on pre-construction works, streamlining production of design drawings, technical specifications, contract management requirements, stakeholder liaison and quality control
  • Seeking consultancy for assessment, inspections, and investigations throughout the planning period 
  • Reporting on project development and planning phase issues.

About you

Bring your project management and construction experience including understanding of project documents, design drawings, specifications, schedules and Australian Standard contracts, as well as:
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly developed conceptual, investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to contribute to fostering a healthy, inclusive and well-connected workplace
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking, reasoning, evaluation and decision-making skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or other relevant field, or relevant experience
  • Current C class driver’s licence (required)
  • Construction Induction Card competency (required)
  • Professional membership to a relevant industry provider or project management qualification (highly regarded).
