The details:

  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
  • $123,569 pa + 12% super (level 8)
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Strathpine

Join City of Moreton Bay as a Corporate Security Coordinator, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.

As the Corporate Security Coordinator you will lead the development, operation, and management of the City’s physical security policies and frameworks,  project manage, lead, resolve issues and address contingencies, and provide services and practical security measures to improve the security and safety of the Council’s assets and people.

You'll also:

  • Coordinate a response to physical security incidents and threats as well as major events
  • Design and embed processes to effectively manage peaceful assemblies
  • Build high-level relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage and undertake performance reviews of Council’s key security contracts in conjunction with Strategic Procurement Office
  • Coordinate and oversee the development and delivery of high-quality preventative awareness, guidelines, training programmes, and strategies for managers
  • Champion organisational ownership in all forums to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures 
  • Develop a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focussed team culture.

About you

We're looking for your exceptional leadership experience to develop and communicate with teams, executives and political leaders in a dynamic work environment., along with an analytical and decision-making skills in a general management role within a large organisation with a strong customer focus.

This leadership role reports to the Manager of Emergency Management and Public Safety and requires a proven ability to inspire service excellence, negotiate with diverse stakeholders, and deliver strategic and operational security outcomes.

You'll also bring:

  • Comprehensive experience applying security frameworks to relevant Australian Standards, such as AS 3745 (Planning for Emergencies in Facilities) / Attorney Generals Department - Protective Security Policy Framework
  • Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills to consult, facilitate and negotiate
  • Extensive management experience focused on Corporate Security at strategic and operational levels
  • Comprehensive experience in the management and deployment of electronic security systems
  • Knowledge of sound financial practices and budget management within a legislative environment
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence required.
