  • From $123,568pa up to $139,840pa + 12% super (level 8)
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.

Join as our Principal Cyber Security Analyst, where you'll take charge of our security landscape, ensuring council data remains protected, available, and compliant.

As the Principal Cyber Security Analyst, you will oversee the council’s information security program, leading proactive monitoring, policy development, and incident response. You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, strengthen security awareness, and implement best-in-class solutions to fortify our cyber defences.

Additional you will:

  • Implement, maintain, and monitor ICT security policies and procedures
  • Manage security tools to detect and respond to cyber threats effectively
  • Lead incident response and ensure ongoing compliance with security regulations
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
  • Champion security awareness across the council and external partners
  • Develop and maintain security strategies, roadmaps, and budgets

To excel as a Principal Cyber Security Analyst, you will bring a wealth of experience and expertise in safeguarding digital assets and managing security risks, ideally within complex ICT environments: You will have:

  • Ability to develop and enforce security strategies that align with business needs
  • Expertise in identifying vulnerabilities, mitigating risks, and handling security incidents
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining information security frameworks
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure and public cloud environments
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners
  • Ability to assess security risks, conduct impact analysis, and implement proactive measures
  • Capable of educating teams on cyber threats and best practices to strengthen security resilience
