The details:

  • Work part time - 3 to 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), depending on what suits your study needs
  • Appointment will be for the duration of your undergraduate studies.
  • $34.68 per hour + 12% super (level 1)
  • Location: Narangba

We are seeking a friendly, reliable and motivated University Student to work in our Waste Planning & Compliance team!

Working alongside professionals in this field, you will gain some great knowledge in the area of your studies as you assist the team in community engagement and education to inform the community of Council's waste and recycling services and implement behavioural interventions to achieve Council's waste reduction, waste diversion from landfill and recycling rate targets. Other duties may include:

  • Attending community events with Council staff for Waste Education.
  • Responding to customer enquiries regarding Waste matters.
  • Preparing and issuing correspondence to residents.
  • Improving the Waste Services webpage content whilst identifying methods to reach target audiences.
  • Engaging with our internal Corporate Communications team regarding media and social media posts related to Waste Management and Behavioural Interventions. 

Your enthusiasm and drive will be paired with exceptional customer service skills as we strive to provide a great experience for all of our stakeholders we interact with.

You will be currently enrolled in university studies relevant to the Waste Planning and Compliance Team functions such as Business and/or Marketing, Environmental Sustainability, Behavioural Economics or Education and be available to work a minimum of 21.75 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with occasional opportunities to work at community events (approximately few weekends per year)
