- Maximum Term Full Time (3 years) | 9 day fortnight
- Starting at $55,168 pa + 12% super (level 5)
Please note, junior rates apply for applicants under 21 years of age - remuneration starting at $50,229 pa Incremental increases will occur with time spent in the position or completion of agreed number of training competencies (whichever comes first)

Join City of Moreton Bay as an Apprentice Parks and Gardens, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
As an Apprentice with us, you'll work towards completing a Certificate III Parks and Gardens through a range of work based activities. You'll gain exposure to a large variety of work types and areas as you work across a number of our teams and learn from our experienced and qualified parks team members
Working as part of our Parks team, you will assist with and undertake onsite relevant parks and gardens/horticultural activities (as defined through legislative requirements for this position) whilst adhering to Council's safety policies and procedures.
You will be required to perform general labouring duties predominantly related to our parks, gardens and green open spaces maintenance such as mowing, mulching, weeding, pruning, blowing, spraying and planting as well as other parks and gardens/landscaping duties necessary to complete the task at hand.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have a passion for this industry, solid aptitude and ability to enrol in and complete a Certificate III in Parks and Gardens within the designated time frame, demonstrated experience undertaking manual handling/general labouring tasks, eagerness to learn new tasks and acquire new skills in a diverse environment across a variety of locations whilst working with various parks teams. Ideally you will have some exposure to the industry that has ignited your passion and drive to continue into a career and gain a qualification within the field.
Additionally, you will hold:
- Current C class driver's licence
- Construction Induction Card (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement at your own cost)
A requirement of this position that you will obtain an MR (Medium Rigid) truck licence within the first 12 months of commencement.
