Join City of Moreton Bay as a Senior Library Assistant, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
We’re seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Senior Library Assistant to support both our Caboolture Library and Mobile Library service. This unique role offers a blend of branch-based responsibilities and regional outreach, delivering library services directly to our community. In this role, you will:
- Drive the Mobile Library vehicle across the region, following a fortnightly schedule of stops
- Support daily operations at Caboolture Library, assisting customers and maintaining a welcoming environment
- Promote, prepare, and deliver engaging library programs and activities
- Mentor and guide library assistants and volunteers
- Help customers navigate library resources, including digital technologies and online platforms
Our Caboolture Library is open 7 days/week, closed on public holidays. We operate at this location with a 4-week rotating roster, and the successful applicant will need to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days as part of the ordinary hours. We anticipate the roster for this role will include working 1 weekend (Sat & Sun) every 2 weeks, and shift times will be between 8:00am to 6:15pm.

Bringing experience in a library setting, you will be well adept at delivering quality collections, programs, reference and reader advisory services. You will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to engage constructively and support customers to meet their needs.
As the library environment can be fast paced and heavily customer focused, you will be able to:
- make decisions and manage your time effectively
- uphold professional conduct and professionalism
- encourage a positive working environment
- easily navigate and use databases, internet and online resources, social media and digital technologies such as tablets and eReader devices
It is a requirement for applicants to hold/be willing to obtain a Working with Children Blue Card and HR class driver’s licence prior to commencement.
