The Details:

  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight 
  • $74,847 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + 12% super (level 6)
  • Please note, progression in remuneration (up to Level 8 - $79,143 inc. allowances + super) is available for this position upon meeting performance and training requirements outlined in a structured crew leader framework.
  • 76 hour fortnight
  • Location: Caboolture
 

Join our Roads and Drains team in a hands-on leadership role that keeps our community moving. As Crew Leader of one of our asphalt crews, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining and repairing local road infrastructure - ensuring we are doing our best to maintain safety, durability and quality for everyone who travels through our region.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing road remediation tasks including pothole patching, edge repairs and failure rectification
  • Operating hand tools and mechanical equipment relevant to asphalt work
  • Identifying road infrastructure defects, diagnosing causes and recommending repair methods
  • Managing asphalt truck operations and assisting with driving duties
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Leading your crew in planning, scheduling and record keeping for maintenance activities

About you

You’re experienced, reliable and ready to lead from the front. Ideally, you bring:

  • Recent hands on experience in road maintenance or construction, especially with asphalt
  • Physical capability and safety awareness for manual tasks
  • Leadership experience and a collaborative mindset
  • Basic technology skills to manage work orders and schedules
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively across teams

Paired with the above mentioned skills and experience, you'll also possess: 

  • Traffic Management Implementation Qualification
  • Medium Rigid (MR) class truck licence or higher
  • Construction Induction card (or willingness to obtain before starting)

Please note - a Certificate III in Civil Construction or another related field is highly desirable, and will be required to advance within the Crew Leader Framework.
