We're seeking an experienced Telecommunications Coordinator to lead strategic telecommunications initiatives across our diverse and growing City. You'll be responsible for managing critical network infrastructure, coordinating telecommunications projects, and ensuring seamless connectivity for council operations and community services. You’ll also play a pivotal role in influencing town planning standards, integrating communications infrastructure into new developments, and unlocking commercial opportunities through Council-owned assets.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the development and optimisation of Council’s telecommunications and network strategy, aligning it with organisational goals and community needs.
- Integrate communications infrastructure into Council construction by shaping town planning and engineering standards.
- Oversee the implementation of the Telecommunications in New Developments (TIND) agenda to enhance mobile telecommunications coverage and capacity in major growth areas.
- Create strategies to provide greenfield developments with capabilities for services such as CCTV, smart city infrastructure, and modern traffic management systems.
- Led network consolidation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, maintain security compliance, and achieve cost reductions.
- Identify and advance commercialisation initiatives for Council-owned communications assets.
- Establish and manage strategic partnerships with telecommunications providers to facilitate accelerated infrastructure investment within the City.
What we’re looking for:
- Tertiary qualification in Telecommunications, IT, Asset Management, or related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in telecommunications coordination or network management
- Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale infrastructure and network projects
- Experience in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with industry and government entities.
- Knowledge of town planning and engineering standards relating to telecommunication infrastructure.
- Understanding of local government operations or complex organisational settings
