The Details:

  • Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
  • $99,136pa + 12% super (level 5)
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Strathpine

Join City of Moreton Bay as our Social Policy and Projects Officer in our Community Planning and Policy unit. Working alongside the team, this role will be part of shaping Council’s approach to community wellbeing, equity, and inclusion to ensure Council’s services and programs reflect the needs of our city’s diverse communities.

Reporting to the Principal Community Planning and Policy Officer, you will:

  • Undertake qualitative and quantitative research and analysis
  • Coordinate and deliver social policy related projects aligned to Council’s strategic objectives and community needs
  • Assist in evaluating Council’s social policy related projects
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with multi-disciplinary internal and external stakeholders
  • Support and coordinate community engagement activities

About you

You will have knowledge and experience in social policy and planning principles and practices, coupled with the ability to research and prepare corporate documents.

Council’s Community Planning and Policy team is responsible for responding to emerging projects and community needs, as such, you will bring to the role your flexible and pragmatic approach and the ability to respond to changes in direction and priorities as and when required.

You will also have well developed project coordination skills and confidence in coordinating large, multi-stakeholder projects.

As a strong communicator, you’ll be comfortable establishing and maintaining relationships with a range of teams across Council and use your insights to help shape Council’s front-facing community service delivery.

Knowledge of the opportunities and challenges within the community services sector, skills in evaluation, and experience working with local government will be well regarded.
