We have a large operational team within our Parks department and we are often looking for experienced labourers to join our Parks teams at various locations throughout the City of Moreton Bay.

- Permanent Full Time| 9 day fortnight
- 76 hour fortnight
- Remuneration and Location are oulined under each position - select your location preference(s) in the application form. Please note: any Petrie and Burpengary based positions will be moving to a Narangba location in the coming months.

We have specialised areas within the Parks team, all consisting of labourers who assist in keeping our City of Moreton Bay in optimal condition for community use and enjoyment.

Each specialised area is outlined below, and you can select which team(s) you wish to be considered for throughout the application process.
GROUNDS MAINTENANCE (located at all depots)
- Depot locations - Arana Hills, Bribie Island, Burpengary, Caboolture, Dayboro, Margate, Narangba, Petrie and Woodford
- $71,020 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + 12% super (level 3)
Preserve and enhance our community's public parks, gardens and open green spaces. Working closely with a crew leader on a designated run, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining Council's valuable green assets so they remain beautiful, safe, and well-maintained. Some of the tasks include:
- mowing parks and nature strips
- mulching and weeding
- pruning and planting
- brush cutting and hedging
- spraying and removal of debris and litter
- driving a truck and trailer
NATURAL AREAS (limited depot locations)
- Depot locations - Narangba and Caboolture
- $71,020 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + 12% super (level 3)
The Natural Areas teams play a crucial role in maintaining and preserving natural environments. Working in a small team, led by a crew leader, you’ll work within a range of environments including riparian zones, foreshore zones, urban interface areas with some exposure to rainforest zones. Some of the tasks include:
- environmental weed control
- natural area conservation works
- maintaining recreational fire trail networks
- participating in prescribed burns
- soft landscaping within natural areas
You'll be doing manual handling and general labouring, chemical spraying, operating the 4WD, general vegetation maintenance and operation of the UTV (utility terrain vehicle) and the truck.
You'll contribute directly to the preservation and enhancement of Moreton Bay's natural areas, playing a vital part in maintaining ecological balance and providing safe, beautiful spaces for our community to enjoy and wildlife to thrive.
TREES (limited depot locations)
- Depot locations - Arana Hills, Caboolture, Petrie, Narangba, and Margate
- Starting at $71,020 pa (includes industry allowance and uniform allowance) + 12% super (level 3) with progression in remuneration available up to level 5 after meeting outlined performance and training requirements.
Preserve and manage urban trees and forestry. Collaborating with an experienced crew leader and other labourers on various tree assignments, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining our city's valuable tree assets. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure our urban trees remain healthy, safe, and well-maintained. Some of the tasks include:
- tree maintenance through pruning and trimming
- lifting tree canopies to improve visibility and safety
- removing damaged or dangerous limbs
- clearing fallen branches and tree-related debris
- operating equipment such as chainsaws and wood chippers
- performing other general tree labouring tasks
- driving a truck

About you
We're looking for your recent, similar experience and for demonstrated:
- knowledge and the physical capability to perform manual tasks safely
- excellent communication skills
- a team-oriented mindset
- commitment to safety culture
- current truck licence (minimum MR - Medium Rigid required)
- Construction Induction Card (or be willing to obtain prior to commencement)
