We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled officer to join the Community Facilities Planning (CFP) team for a 6‑month secondment. This role will support key strategic and operational planning activities currently underway across the organisation, with a particular focus on community infrastructure planning, capital project engagement, and CFP business improvements.
We are seeking an officer who brings:
- A background in social planning, community infrastructure planning, urban planning, or a related field
- An understanding of community facility operations, user needs and service delivery considerations
- Strong organisational skills, excellent coordination capability and high attention to detail
- The ability to work confidently with internal stakeholders across Infrastructure Planning (IP), Project Planning and Delivery (PPD) and Cultural, Community and Environmental Services
- Experience or strong interest in planning, social research or community infrastructure

About the Role
Over the six‑month secondment, the officer will:
Support Network Planning
- Lead research, planning, analysis and documentation.
- Lead project coordination and support development of planning outputs.
- Lead stakeholder engagement with internal staff and external partners.
Support Capital Projects and Design Engagement
- Work collaboratively with Infrastructure Planning (IP) and Property & Project Delivery (PPD).
- Provide input to ensure community facility operational requirements are at the forefront of planning, design, and delivery.
- Review concept designs, feasibility considerations, and facility functionality.
Support CFP Business‑as‑Usual (BAU) and Process Improvements
- Identify and lead improvements to CFP processes, templates and internal workflows.
- Prepare high‑quality reports, briefings and planning documents, consistent with the PD responsibilities.
- Strengthening internal stakeholder relationships and enabling consistent planning practice.
