The Details:
- Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
- $91,155 pa + 12% super (level 4) + a commuter use vehicle
- 76 hour fortnight
- Location: Site based with a home depot location of Petrie. Please note, whilst this position has an allocated home depot location, the work will be based across various sites within the area and our team members will start and finish on the job site. Travel time compensation is applicable when travelling distances further than your home depot location. Please also note, this home depot location will eventually move to our Narangba depot.

As one of our Construction Supervisors, you will plan, coordinate and supervise an internal construction crew to deliver a range of maintenance and capital projects. Your work will focus strongly on road rehabilitation, stormwater drainage, car parks and landslip remediation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing leadership and motivation to construction crews, fostering a safe, efficient and cooperative work environment, while ensuring staff are skilled and supported to deliver high quality outcomes
- Reading and interpreting complex construction documentation, including drawings, specifications, estimates and program schedules, to ensure accurate and timely delivery
- Managing subcontractor performance, overseeing a variety of tasks to ensure work is completed to required standard
- Undertaking end to end procurement activities in line with Council’s policies and procedures
- Maintaining oversight and control of key construction inputs and activities to support successful project outcomes

About you
You are an experienced and confident construction professional with a strong background in delivering a variety of scheduled civil construction projects. You bring practical, hands‑on knowledge along with the leadership capability to guide, support and grow an internal construction crew.
You’ll bring:
- Well developed experience in delivering a range of scheduled construction projects within a general civil construction environment
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and support team members, fostering sustainable skill development and a positive, well connected team culture
- Strong practical knowledge of construction materials, plant capabilities, specifications and industry standards required for successful project delivery
- Confident skills in reading and interpreting construction documentation, including drawings, specifications, estimates and schedules
- Well developed technology, numeracy, written and verbal communication skills to effectively manage project documentation, reporting and daily coordination
- Solid day to day people management capability, with the ability to work collaboratively within broader teams and support efficient site operations
- Demonstrated experience performing manual tasks safely and promoting a strong safety culture
- A proactive, solution focused approach with the ability to adapt to changing priorities on site
Mandatory Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification or Certificate IV in civil construction, project management or a related field
- Construction Induction Card
- Current C Class driver’s licence
- Employees appointed to this position are required to be fully vaccinated against Tetanus as a condition of employment.
