Join City of Moreton Bay as a Senior Technical Officer - Waste Planning & Compliance, and help shape and enhance our communities for today and tomorrow.
Working within the Waste and Resource Recovery department, you'll be part of a collaborative, forward thinking team driving sustainable outcomes across City of Moreton Bay. The team is focused on delivering innovative waste management solutions, improving environmental performance and supporting Council's long term economy goals through data driven insights and strong stakeholder partnerships.
In this role, you will:
- Lead procurement and contract management for complex waste services, ensuring compliant and efficient delivery
- Analyse and interpret waste and environmental data to drive strategy, reporting and operational decision making
- Provide expert technical advice on waste planning, compliance and resource recovery initiatives
- Deliver and support key projects, including modelling waste flows, reviewing plans and improving service outcomes
- Guide and support Technical Officers while coordinating workflows to ensure timely and high quality outputs
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, contractors and regulators to strengthen service delivery and compliance

About you
You will bring experience preparing briefs, scopes of work, specifications and supporting documentation across waste projects, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation, standards and best practice in waste management operations.
You’re confident working with large, complex data sets, including analysis, modelling, and reporting. You apply project management principles in a team setting and plan and deliver projects within timeframes and budgets.
A relevant qualification in environmental or waste related fields is required, along with a current Construction Induction Card and a valid C Class Driver’s Licence.
