  • Work part time - 3 to 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), depending on what suits your study needs
  • Appointment will be for 12 months or the duration of your undergraduate studies if less.
  • $38.05 per hour + 12% super (level 1)
  • Location: Caboolture with local parking and walking distance to train station

Whether you're in the early years of your degree or nearing graduation, this is an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience within our Environmental and Sustainability Planning and Policy team while working alongside experienced professionals.

Roles are suited to:

  • University students studying Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Planning, Sustainability, or a related discipline
  • Students seeking practical industry experience alongside their studies
  • Students looking to build their professional career with exposure to environmental and sustainability planning projects
  • Passionate individuals interested in creating positive environmental and community outcomes

You'll be part of a team delivering research, policy and planning initiatives that support all aspects of sustainability across the City. Depending on your experience and stage of study, you may:

  • Assist with research and development projects that contribute to environmental, climate change and sustainability outcomes.
  • Apply concepts from your university studies to real-world projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct research, analyse data, and help develop recommendations and solutions.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, briefing materials and stakeholder correspondence.
  • Support project delivery while gaining an understanding of professional planning and policy practices.
  • Work alongside internal and external stakeholders to support projects.

We're looking for Students who are:

  • Curious, motivated and passionate about sustainability and environmental outcomes.
  • Currently studying in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Planning, Sustainability or a related discipline.
  • Good communicators with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders and team members.
  • Confident researchers with the ability to gather, interpret and apply information.
  • Organised and able to manage competing priorities while working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other digital tools.
  • Eager to learn, develop professionally and contribute new ideas to the team.
