Join City of Moreton Bay as a Gallery Officer and help bring arts, culture and creativity to life for our community.
In this rewarding role, you'll contribute to delivering exceptional visitor experiences and dynamic public programs, helping make our galleries welcoming and inspiring spaces for residents and visitors alike.
As a Gallery Officer, you will:
- Support the delivery of gallery operations, assisting with exhibitions, public programs and day-to-day activities that ensure our gallery spaces operate smoothly and effectively.
- Develop and deliver engaging public programs and events, helping to increase visitation, broaden community participation and create meaningful cultural experiences.
- Create outstanding visitor experiences by maintaining welcoming, accessible and engaging gallery environments that encourage exploration and connection.
- Provide leadership and support to gallery team members, overseeing routine work activities, fostering skill development and contributing to a positive, high-performing team culture.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including venue performance reporting and the review and enhancement of gallery processes and procedures.
Council currently has galleries located at Caboolture, Redcliffe and Strathpine. You may also be asked to work at our other venues and at gallery events out of ordinary hours on occasion.
Hours of Work
This role will work 9:45am to 4:15pm, on a fortnightly rotational roster:
- Week 1: Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
- Week 2: Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
About you
You are a proactive and customer focused professional with experience working in a visitor focused cultural, gallery, museum or arts environment. Confident in supporting daily operations and leading staff, you have a passion for delivering high quality visitor experiences and creating welcoming spaces that encourage community engagement.
You bring strong organisational, interpersonal and time management skills, along with experience developing and delivering public programs and events. You are comfortable working collaboratively within a team, using your initiative to support gallery operations, coordinate activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
You will also have experience collating information, maintaining records and preparing reports, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for both visitors and the organisation.
To be successful in this role, you will hold:
- A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- A current C Class Driver's Licence.
